Saudi Arabia

The Programme
The program SASO ICCP was phased out pursuant to the Council of Ministers Decree Nº.213 and a New Conformity Assessment program has been approved as replacement following the Council of Ministers Decree Nº6386

The new Conformity Assessment program is under the authority of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry; it requires that all consignments of products to be exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia should be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to testify their compliance with the requirement of the applicable standards and technical regulations.

The CoC is mandatory for goods clearance and consignments without CoC or not meeting the requirements of the Conformity Assessment program will be rejected at destination.

The objectives
The aim of the conformity assessment program is to ensure that the goods imported into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia meet the quality, safety and security requirements and thus protect consumer’s health and safety and the environment

Conformity Assessment programs minimize also the opportunities for trade fraud and mitigate the risk of rejection of the products at the Saudi ports and borders
