The Programme The Public Authority for Industry of the State of Kuwait (PAI) has been implementing the ‘Kuwait Conformity Assurance Scheme’ (KUCAS) since 17 June, 2006. KUCAS is a set of procedures carried out by PAI to verify the conformity of all ‘Regulated Products’ to the Kuwait’s Technical Regulations and approved Standards.
Exporters & manufacturers with consignments of regulated products to be shipped to Kuwait may complete the conformity procedures prior to shipment through one of the Certification and Inspection Bodies approved by PAI (e.g. SGS) in accordance with the KUCAS Guidelines.
The Objectives The key objective of KUCAS is to make sure that the all imported 'Regulated Products' meet the mandatory quality, safety, and security requirements of the Kuwaiti technical regulations and standards approved by PAI.
The conformity assessment and verification activities will be conducted at various exporting countries, this will facilitate trade and eliminate losses that importers may be exposed to in case they have to re-export the products not found in compliance with the mandatory requirements.
