Scope of the Mandate
In order to prevent waste goods imported for recycling from containing toxic materials.

Description of Actual Services Provided by the SGS Staff
In its capacity as a licensed surveyor in the countries of export to Indonesia SGS:

a.  conducts an administrative verification on identity and authenticity of licenses, including all other conditions required to be met by the waste importers.

b.  conducts a  field verification of various information and data on the country of origin of the waste, the HS classification,  the description of the goods, the quantity and type, the date of shipment and port of destination and ensures that the waste materials are free of toxic materials.

Places evidence of inspection on the packaging of the waste which has been subject to the verification or technical survey, in the form of seals or labels.
